USMC PFT Calculator & Scoring Standards
Marine PFT calculator with current USMC PFT standards: score pull-ups or push-ups, plank, and the 3-mile run or row, with altitude and combat-arms tables.
USMC PFT standards and scoring
PFT uses pull-ups or push-ups, plank, and a three-mile run or eligible rowing alternative. Push-ups are capped by their published table. High-altitude tables apply at 4,500 feet and above. Rowing eligibility still requires your unit’s approval.
The current order requires 150 points for a third-class PFT, 200 for second class, and 235 for first class. Combat-arms PFT uses the male age-normed table and a 210-point total minimum. Use the USMC CFT calculator for the separate combat test, then convert both scores with the USMC JEPES calculator; see source and revision notes for the corrected class threshold.

Questions about this tool
Why do push-ups stop at 70 PFT points?
The published Marine push-up option has a lower maximum than pull-ups. The calculator preserves that 70-point cap instead of scaling push-up results to 100. This affects the highest possible total when selecting push-ups. Choose the authorized event that reflects the actual assessment rather than treating the two upper-body options as identical scales.
Which PFT class thresholds are applied?
The current order uses 150 points for a qualifying total, 200 for second class, and 235 for first class, with event minimums also required. The archived public calculator contains older class messaging, so this site takes classification thresholds from the current order rather than copying that older interface’s pass label.
How does the combat-arms PFT option change the result?
The combat-arms setting uses male scoring standards and a 210-point qualifying total for the PFT. It does not change the CFT option on this page or determine your occupational assignment. Confirm that the requirement applies to your assessment. The selected age group continues to choose the appropriate age-normed performance thresholds.
Can every Marine select the 5,000-meter row?
The row is an authorized alternative subject to the governing eligibility and approval conditions. Showing its published scoring table does not grant permission to substitute it for a run. Check age, medical, and command requirements before using it for an actual assessment, and select the applicable altitude table where authorized.
